Goodbye Christmas - see you next year!

So it's been and gone for another year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas - it goes way too quick! I woke up pretty late on Christmas day (had a late night!), so my brother came storming in at 10am to wake me up! First things first - presents! Check out what I got from my parents, brother and boyfriend below!

I LOVE my new fragrance - Candy by Prada. It's a sweet scent for girls that like to dress up!
Models Own is my new obsession, so after discovering that I could buy their varnish in Boots I was straight in there! I went for this glitter polish called "Hot Stuff" as I thought it would be perfect and festive for Christmas. It's still on, but is going to be a nightmare to remove!
My boyfriend has such good taste! I love my gorgeous new faux fur scarf!

You can't see very well but my tights have a gold glisten!
My brother and myself! (I bought him that shirt!)
Festive crackers on the table :)
My amazing Christmas dinner!

What did you get for Christmas?

early pay day - lace and leopard print.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting this month's pay slip early before Christmas which means only one thing.. SHOPPING. Here's a few items I've got my eyes on...

I think this cream lace blouse with the pussybow is so cute, and is perfect for feminine styles. The blue skinnies make it a casual day look - if you want to take the blouse into the evening, you're best teaming it with a skirt (or even just pop on some heels if you're going down the pub!)

I'm absoloutely in love with these ankle boots from River Island - I actually have to purchase them. They'll look amazing with skinnies, and add a touch of personal style to any look, just by the stud and buckle design. I think leopard print is a perfect combination for this colour palette - so matching your bag and earrings is a great way of adding some colour and boldness into your look, if you're wearing a plain colour with jeans like this outfit. Hope you like it!

Cream lace pussybow shirt: Miss Selfridge £35
Moto vintage skinny leigh jeans: Topshop £38
Cream stud toe buckle ankle boots: River Island £40
Brown leopard spotted grab bag: Fiorelli £68
Gold animal print triangle drop earrings: New Look £4.99
QUOTE OF THE DAY: Style is what you pick out of fashion.

The Great Gatsby Style Christmas Dinner

Last night was a fantastic evening! We had our work Christmas meal 1920's style! The evening took place in a large hall but had been designed to perfection. As you're walking through the hall way to the entrance, you find yourself walking along the red carpet, being greeted by actors - beautiful 1920's style women and a few men in suits! As you step through the door, a handsome chaps offers you a glass of champagne before being blinded by dozens of round large tables, massive feather table decorations, lots of fabulous outfits and a dance floor in the middle. Everything was made of glass! It was truly beautiful. Dinner was delicious and myself and the girls partied the night away with our free bottles of wine! Amazing night.

Myself in my light pink tassel dress from H&M, borrowed from my lovely friend.  I've accessorised with a white faux fur shaw and of course, pearls! Unfortunately, I was working until late because I would have loved to have had my hair done professionally in a proper 1920's style, but instead I had to settle with curls!
Fabulous feather table decorations. The table itself was a mirror!
They even gave us free money!
Enjoying my first glass of wine in these beautiful glasses.
The wine being poured
Delicious chocolate and vanilla sponge, teamed with a $25 chocolate coin!
And to top it off, we had amazing entertainment from tightrope walkers!
And acrobatics! They were AMAZING!
Myself looking all vintage at the dinner table.
Some of the lovely girls I work with!
Fabulous night, and if you guys had a work-do too, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! x

cute collar on a cold day.

I am loving the collar trend - I've got probably 10 necklace collars and 20 shirts/blouses with collars! So yesterday as I got ready to go and visit my grandparents, I really fancied wearing one! The only problem was, it was freezing so a jumper was definitely needed. So I totally layered this cute collared blouse from Primark with my checkered Topshop jumper for a feminine touch. Not sure if this is the most inspirational post I've ever done, but I thought it would be a nice idea for you collar-lovers to try at home! Be sure to let me know if you're feeling inspired!

My burgundy jeans from Wallis add a touch of colour to a dark outfit!
I love my new hat that Nanny bought me

Sparkle in Sequins

It is truly the party season, so I've put together a few sequin staples to take you on through the night!

Gold sequin leggings: Internacionale £10
Ombre sequin kimono: Topshop £58
All over sequins pencil skirt: A-Wear £30
Embellished clutch: Matalan £14
Champagne glitter high block heel court shoes: Dune £59

Celebs in Sequins

OMG?! How amazing is Rosamund Pike's gold embroidered jersey dress? And those Christian Louboutin heels?

Selena keeps it simple by teaming a full sequin mini skirt with a plain nude top, but looks so elegant.

Will you be wearing sequins this season?

Quote of the day: The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

my work in BLISS Magazine.

Back in the Summer, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity of a weeks work experience with Bliss Magazine. I was given the opportunity to write my own little article in the magazine for January issue. My job was to test three types of tweezers by different brands (Urbanista, Dirty works and Models Own), mark them out of ten and write what I thought about each. I even get a cheeky little pic of myself next to it too! Check it out below!

I also posted about this earlier in the year here. You can also read about my time overall working with the magazine in these posts: IntroductionDay oneDay twoDay threeDay four and Day five

This months Bliss cover with Ella Henderson from X Factor.
Not the most amazing photo of me, but hey, I'm famous! (Not really...)

bits and bobs.

There are lots of little bits and bobs that I wanted to post, so today is all about just that.

This week summed up in words:
♥ flowers, lace scarf, job opportunities, smoothies, christmas decorations, baguettes, mannequins, shoes, x factor, nails, working out, published work, golden kiwis, sad songs, fire going in the living room, monkey shaped chocolate, wooly hat, frosty mornings, knee-length bed socks ♥

Beautiful flowers and Cadbury Roses from my boyfriend - he surprised me after work with them!
Loving my nail colour this week - Rimmel London in Urban Purple
Our modern and simplistic family Christmas tree this year. The look is all about fairy lights, glass and elegance.
A beautiful hand-crafted bauble for my mum and dad. An angel is drawn on one side, with the words "mummy & daddy" written on the back. A lovely gift created by a friend from work.
New shoes! I've been waiting for these beauts to go in the sale for ages! They finally went down to £20 and without hesitation, bought them! They are much higher than they look, perfect for a night out.

time to think new years resolutions.

That time is back where you're starting to think about your new years resolutions, which (let's be honest) half the time you won't keep. But hey, there's no harm having a go! My new years resolution is to be more versatile with my hairstyles. Quite often I don't have time to do anything interesting with my hair so I just leave it down naturally, but I want to get into the habit of styling it differently more often. Even if this means getting up a little earlier before work. I'm thinking a cute top bun one day, a side plait the next, and so on.

It's not just us making resolutions, celebrities like Scarlett Johansson is hoping to enjoy life as a newlywed with her new husband, Ryan Reynolds (lucky girl!) and Brad Pitt wants to redouble his efforts to support charitable organisations around the world! Now there's something that us non-celebrities can relate to!

When it comes to fashion related resolutions, I think the main one that younger people need to work on (particularly if you're still at school), is stop worrying about what people think! And I am so serious when I say this. I spent half my teenage years not wearing what I really wanted, simply because I was scared of what people, or even my friends, would say. I think it's so important to be yourself so I want all of you girls to focus on this in the new year, if you feel this is something you should work on! I promise you'll feel better for it. So, for you fashionistas who like something a little different and diverse in your style, I've created this collage below for inspiration!

Another cool resolution idea is to try a new "beauty dare" once a month. It's always liberating to try something new every now and again, whether it means wearing a bold colour lipstick, or a new nail colour. It will help revive your look and unleash a whole new you.

I'd love to hear what your resolution/s are for next year - drop a comment below and let me know!

designer outlet bargain.

Today, my mum and I had a day out to Gloucester Quays, taking advantage of their amazing Designer Outlet that includes retailers such as Ghost, LK Bennett and The White Company. As well as treating ourselves to a delicious Nandos for lunch, I bought these beautiful LK Bennett platforms for £35, reduced from £110!!! Bargainnnn. They are stunning and I shall be wearing them on many night outs to come!

Words to sum up my day;
wintery cold, chicken burger, designer bargains, laughs, quality time, love, family, new experience, journey, spending money, christmas, dog tooth trousers, pink lipstick, trying on beautiful dresses that don't fit me, mint peas, decorations, fashion, friendliness.

I treated myself to a face mask the other day! My skin was lovely and soft afterwards and was really easy to remove as it just peeled away! They only £1 and can be found in supermarkets, Superdrug and Boots!

celebrity update: allison williams.

Actress, Allison Williams appeared at the Gotham Independent Film Awards 2012 in this gorgeous pale pink lace embellished maxi. She looks so elegant and feminine, teaming her look with beautiful tight long curls. I love how she's accessorised her feet with black sandles to match the black lace at the bottom of the dress. With her slim figure, this dress is nothing but flattering as it clenches in at the waist and enhances her lovely long arms, with pale nail polish to finish.

my style wishlist.

Things I really want at the moment... (Oh, hey Christmas!)

Dress: Topshop £65
Riding Boots: Next £99
Models Own Nail Polish in Hot Stuff - Mirrorball: £5
Berry Velvet Trousers: River Island £35
Ivory Fur Gilet: Dorothy Perkins £55

I'd love a cute little party dress like this one from Topshop with sequin detail for a glam look on an evening. Knee-length riding boots are great this season for our horrible rainy weather! I can't find any cheap-ish ones though, they're all based around the £100 mark :( which is a little out of my price range, unfortunately. Since receiving a Models Own polish in my work experience goodie bag, I'm totally obsessed with the brand! They do so many amazing colours like this Hot Stuff Mirrorball shade, but I have no idea where to buy them where I live!! Such a pain. These berry velvet trousers from River Island are an amazing statement and add texture and interest to any outfit, keeping legs warm all winter! As I was wandering through Dorothy Perkins the other day, I noticed this beautiful ivory faux fur gilet that I seriously have to get. I'd team it with a long sleeved blouse, skinnies and boots!

I want to know what's on your wishlist for Christmas... comment below and let me know :)

Also, it's one month until Christmas eve! ;)

mummy's flower business.

My mum is such a talented Florist with years of experience, and I just wanted to show off her work because I feel she deserves it. If you're based in Bristol and are in need of some flowers (weddings, funerals, birthdays, Christmas, house decorations or just general bouquets) and you're interested in purchasing, e-mail me on for more details and I'm happy to get you in touch.

christmas A-Z gift guide.

Do you keep getting asked what you want for Christmas but have no clue? Do you keep asking people what they want and they don't know either? I know there's plenty of these silly gift guides around, but let's be honest, they're just full of mugs and gift sets etc. so I've created an A-Z gift guide that I would find useful for myself! Hope you find it useful too!

A: Amazon or is a great site to buy gifts for a cheaper price! For example, if you wanted to buy your brother a PlayStation game, it's likely to be £10 cheaper on Amazon.

B: Book
A book is always a great gift, as long as you know that they enjoy reading. Do they watch horror movies? They may like a horror book. If they watch romantic movies, they'll prefer a romantic book.

C: Calendar
A calendar with their favourite band or animal saves them buying one themselves after Christmas, so a calendar may be really appreciated.

D: Diffiuser
Your mum and nan will love a diffuser for the house. As soon as you set them up, you just leave them to work their magic and make the house smell lovely. And they last weeks! Try one from Body Shop - they're known for their beautiful smelling products.

E: Essentials
It may sound boring, but most the time your dad, brother or even boyfriend would really appreciate their pants and socks being bought for them. They won't buy them themselves!

F: Fragrance
A women loves a good perfume. Splash out on a designer fragrance for the one you love and she'll never forget it!

G: Gown
It's more than likely that everyone you know has been wearing the same dressing gown for years. Maybe it's time they had a nice new cosy one for the winter weather! Marks & Spencer are great for things like this!

H: Hair stylist
Treat your mum, sister or even your dad (he may like this too!), to a hair appointment with a top stylist so they can have what they've always wanted without having to pay for it! Think ReflectionsToni & Guy or Saks.

I: iTunes
A £10 or £20 iTunes voucher is great for the younger ones with iPods. It can get annoying have to buy all your music sometimes so this is perfect for any music lover.

J: Jewellery
You'll know what style of jewellery they wear, so you'll know what to buy. Check out jewellery from Next, Topshop, Accessorize and New Look.

K: Knitwear
Not necessarily a jumper, but a nice knitted scarf and hat for them to wear in the winter weather is a great present!

River Island £25

L: Lingerie set
If you're a guy reading this and are wondering what to buy your girlfriend, what about a pretty lingerie set? She will feel so nice in it because you picked it!

Instead of buying your Christmas cards this year, order them all on to make them more personal and appreciated! Plus when all the family come over and see them scattered around the room, they'll make funny conversation.

N: Nail Polish
But not just your standard Barry M or Rimmel. Think Chanel, Models Own or Yves Saint Laurent nail polish. Not only are they a lot better quality, but your loved one will appreciate the few extra pounds spent. And check out this Nail Art from for a glitter finish.

O: Own-made
Make something yourself for someone. Even if it's just their Christmas card, it's so much more meaningful. If you can knit, knit them a scarf! If you're a photographer, perhaps put their favourite picture on a canvas for them.

P: Power up hand warmer
Everyone wants one of these in the winter!

Q: Quilt
A nice cosy quilt to snuggle up in as you're watching movies. And you can get one of these for anyone! Think Next or The Range.

R: Roses
If it's a box of chocolates or a bunch of actual roses, someone is going to love them. Your mum or sister will love a box of choccies, whilst your girlfriend will love some red roses.

S: Subscription
If you've noticed that magazine that they're always reading, why not order them a subscription? You know it makes sense...

T: Tights
Places like John Lewis do an amazing range of patterned tights! They're a fashionable present that a lady will love!

U: Umbrella
It's raining all the time at this time of year, yet we always find ourselves not investing in a good umbrella. What about these cute ones from Urban Outfitters?

V: Vase
I guarantee your mum needs a vase for all the flowers she has around the house. House of Fraser have some lovely designs that will look fabulous on a window seal!

W: Watch
Anyone can wear a watch, but if they're buying it themselves they're bound to buy a cheap one. So why don't you buy them a designer watch that will stay with them forever? Think Hugo Boss for the men, and DKNY for the women.

X: Experience
Treat your boyfriend, mum or sister to a lovely spa experience. They'll love a day of luxury but wouldn't think to do it themselves.

Y: Yummy treat
Sometimes, a box of chocolates or a bag of sweets for the young ones is enough. Thorntons is your best bet for chocolate - they do gift sets, individuals and you can get them to write a name or message on certain products!

Z: Zebra print
A really cool zebra print pillow can make a real statement in someone's bedroom!

Happy shopping and have a lovely Christmas!
