designer outlet bargain.

Today, my mum and I had a day out to Gloucester Quays, taking advantage of their amazing Designer Outlet that includes retailers such as Ghost, LK Bennett and The White Company. As well as treating ourselves to a delicious Nandos for lunch, I bought these beautiful LK Bennett platforms for £35, reduced from £110!!! Bargainnnn. They are stunning and I shall be wearing them on many night outs to come!

Words to sum up my day;
wintery cold, chicken burger, designer bargains, laughs, quality time, love, family, new experience, journey, spending money, christmas, dog tooth trousers, pink lipstick, trying on beautiful dresses that don't fit me, mint peas, decorations, fashion, friendliness.

I treated myself to a face mask the other day! My skin was lovely and soft afterwards and was really easy to remove as it just peeled away! They only £1 and can be found in supermarkets, Superdrug and Boots!

celebrity update: allison williams.

Actress, Allison Williams appeared at the Gotham Independent Film Awards 2012 in this gorgeous pale pink lace embellished maxi. She looks so elegant and feminine, teaming her look with beautiful tight long curls. I love how she's accessorised her feet with black sandles to match the black lace at the bottom of the dress. With her slim figure, this dress is nothing but flattering as it clenches in at the waist and enhances her lovely long arms, with pale nail polish to finish.

my style wishlist.

Things I really want at the moment... (Oh, hey Christmas!)

Dress: Topshop £65
Riding Boots: Next £99
Models Own Nail Polish in Hot Stuff - Mirrorball: £5
Berry Velvet Trousers: River Island £35
Ivory Fur Gilet: Dorothy Perkins £55

I'd love a cute little party dress like this one from Topshop with sequin detail for a glam look on an evening. Knee-length riding boots are great this season for our horrible rainy weather! I can't find any cheap-ish ones though, they're all based around the £100 mark :( which is a little out of my price range, unfortunately. Since receiving a Models Own polish in my work experience goodie bag, I'm totally obsessed with the brand! They do so many amazing colours like this Hot Stuff Mirrorball shade, but I have no idea where to buy them where I live!! Such a pain. These berry velvet trousers from River Island are an amazing statement and add texture and interest to any outfit, keeping legs warm all winter! As I was wandering through Dorothy Perkins the other day, I noticed this beautiful ivory faux fur gilet that I seriously have to get. I'd team it with a long sleeved blouse, skinnies and boots!

I want to know what's on your wishlist for Christmas... comment below and let me know :)

Also, it's one month until Christmas eve! ;)

mummy's flower business.

My mum is such a talented Florist with years of experience, and I just wanted to show off her work because I feel she deserves it. If you're based in Bristol and are in need of some flowers (weddings, funerals, birthdays, Christmas, house decorations or just general bouquets) and you're interested in purchasing, e-mail me on for more details and I'm happy to get you in touch.

christmas A-Z gift guide.

Do you keep getting asked what you want for Christmas but have no clue? Do you keep asking people what they want and they don't know either? I know there's plenty of these silly gift guides around, but let's be honest, they're just full of mugs and gift sets etc. so I've created an A-Z gift guide that I would find useful for myself! Hope you find it useful too!

A: Amazon or is a great site to buy gifts for a cheaper price! For example, if you wanted to buy your brother a PlayStation game, it's likely to be £10 cheaper on Amazon.

B: Book
A book is always a great gift, as long as you know that they enjoy reading. Do they watch horror movies? They may like a horror book. If they watch romantic movies, they'll prefer a romantic book.

C: Calendar
A calendar with their favourite band or animal saves them buying one themselves after Christmas, so a calendar may be really appreciated.

D: Diffiuser
Your mum and nan will love a diffuser for the house. As soon as you set them up, you just leave them to work their magic and make the house smell lovely. And they last weeks! Try one from Body Shop - they're known for their beautiful smelling products.

E: Essentials
It may sound boring, but most the time your dad, brother or even boyfriend would really appreciate their pants and socks being bought for them. They won't buy them themselves!

F: Fragrance
A women loves a good perfume. Splash out on a designer fragrance for the one you love and she'll never forget it!

G: Gown
It's more than likely that everyone you know has been wearing the same dressing gown for years. Maybe it's time they had a nice new cosy one for the winter weather! Marks & Spencer are great for things like this!

H: Hair stylist
Treat your mum, sister or even your dad (he may like this too!), to a hair appointment with a top stylist so they can have what they've always wanted without having to pay for it! Think ReflectionsToni & Guy or Saks.

I: iTunes
A £10 or £20 iTunes voucher is great for the younger ones with iPods. It can get annoying have to buy all your music sometimes so this is perfect for any music lover.

J: Jewellery
You'll know what style of jewellery they wear, so you'll know what to buy. Check out jewellery from Next, Topshop, Accessorize and New Look.

K: Knitwear
Not necessarily a jumper, but a nice knitted scarf and hat for them to wear in the winter weather is a great present!

River Island £25

L: Lingerie set
If you're a guy reading this and are wondering what to buy your girlfriend, what about a pretty lingerie set? She will feel so nice in it because you picked it!

Instead of buying your Christmas cards this year, order them all on to make them more personal and appreciated! Plus when all the family come over and see them scattered around the room, they'll make funny conversation.

N: Nail Polish
But not just your standard Barry M or Rimmel. Think Chanel, Models Own or Yves Saint Laurent nail polish. Not only are they a lot better quality, but your loved one will appreciate the few extra pounds spent. And check out this Nail Art from for a glitter finish.

O: Own-made
Make something yourself for someone. Even if it's just their Christmas card, it's so much more meaningful. If you can knit, knit them a scarf! If you're a photographer, perhaps put their favourite picture on a canvas for them.

P: Power up hand warmer
Everyone wants one of these in the winter!

Q: Quilt
A nice cosy quilt to snuggle up in as you're watching movies. And you can get one of these for anyone! Think Next or The Range.

R: Roses
If it's a box of chocolates or a bunch of actual roses, someone is going to love them. Your mum or sister will love a box of choccies, whilst your girlfriend will love some red roses.

S: Subscription
If you've noticed that magazine that they're always reading, why not order them a subscription? You know it makes sense...

T: Tights
Places like John Lewis do an amazing range of patterned tights! They're a fashionable present that a lady will love!

U: Umbrella
It's raining all the time at this time of year, yet we always find ourselves not investing in a good umbrella. What about these cute ones from Urban Outfitters?

V: Vase
I guarantee your mum needs a vase for all the flowers she has around the house. House of Fraser have some lovely designs that will look fabulous on a window seal!

W: Watch
Anyone can wear a watch, but if they're buying it themselves they're bound to buy a cheap one. So why don't you buy them a designer watch that will stay with them forever? Think Hugo Boss for the men, and DKNY for the women.

X: Experience
Treat your boyfriend, mum or sister to a lovely spa experience. They'll love a day of luxury but wouldn't think to do it themselves.

Y: Yummy treat
Sometimes, a box of chocolates or a bag of sweets for the young ones is enough. Thorntons is your best bet for chocolate - they do gift sets, individuals and you can get them to write a name or message on certain products!

Z: Zebra print
A really cool zebra print pillow can make a real statement in someone's bedroom!

Happy shopping and have a lovely Christmas!

primark spree.

Today, my mum and I spent about 4 hours in Primark! We both managed to grab some really good bargains though! I know Primark isn't know for great quality, but sometimes I just can't help myself! I ended up buying 7 fashion items for £50, which is amazing! Check out my goodies! I've bought my Christmas outfit, my job interview outfit, a statement accessory for quirky outfits (that I've been needing for ages) - from lace and pearls to military and Egyptian. There's no denying my style is completely diverse! But I love it!

Egyptian style statement necklace £5
Chiffon blouse with lace & pearl collar SALE £5
Beautiful black lace and pearls
Military style LBD £16 - I'll be wearing this for a job interview with black tights and my classic black courts, or edge it up during the day with my studded black ankle boots.
(The image doesn't really do this dress justice)
Amazing shoulder detail.
Wool skirt £8 - Will look so cute in the winter with some knitted black tights!
Gold & black fishnet tights £3 - I'll be wearing these glistening tights on Christmas day with my military LBD
Classic black patent courts £10

braided bun.

I love my braided bun tonight! My family and I went to a lovely Greek restaurant tonight for my Grandad's birthday and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out a new hairstyle that I learnt from doing my work experience at a hair magazine! I thought it was a great style for day and night and literally doesn't fall out! (Aslong as you apply lots of hairspray!) Plus when you take it out, you've got lovely waves in your hair! Basically, pop your hair in a pony tail and secure tightly making sure it's pulled back nice and sleek! Then braid the pony tail and secure with a thin hairband. Now, I got my mum to help me with this bit as I was a little incapable of doing it myself but basically wrap the plait around and secure with pins! And then plaster it with hairspray!

end of work experience.

My week of working for Your Hair and Hair Ideas is over :( I had an amazing time writing loads of pieces for the magazine and for the website. Everyone was really lovely and chatty - I usually get pretty much ignored on work experience but this was different! I'd pretty much wrote a whole magazine issue by the time I left! They literally said to me, "you've done it all", which is brilliant!! I can't believe they aren't based in London, never thought I'd want to work for a magazine where I'm actually based myself. Before I left, the Editorial Assistant delighted me with a goody bag to say thank you for my hard work. I was so chuffed! Here's a few piccies of my new products that I shall definitely be trying out! I'm going to miss that place!

Clynol Volume & Restructure Spray £6
Timotei Pure Dry Shampoo £3.69
ID Hair Elements Mega Strong Hairspray £9.99
L'anza Healing Moisture Hair Masque £6.95
Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps £5.99
Mood by John Richard Hairclip £8
Structure Dust Matte Hair Powder £12.95
Models Own Nail Polish in Hayley's Comet £5
Andrew Barton S.O.S. HELP ME! Paddle Hair Brush £9
(Prices vary)
So happy to get a new hair brush! I was planning on buying a new one myself but now I don't need to! AND it's Andrew Barton! Doesn't get much better than that!
I've worked with Andrew a few times at Bristol Fashion Week, but never tried out his products. Will be interesting to try them out!
I've been meaning to try a Model's Own nail polish for ages, as I've heard they last really well. So I was really happy to see this pearly purple polish in my goody bag!
Examples of my work that I printed off before leaving! Wasn't I a busy girl!

Dress Promotion Day

The other day we had a dress promotion day at work so we had the opportunity to wear a free dress for the day! Lucky us! Here is the one I chose in our petite section. It was a oriental floral and bird print and has a dipped hem which is bang on trend at the moment.

Warehouse Gems

I love my new blouse and necklace from Warehouse! I love the vintage pattern on the blouse and the collar detail is so on trend right now. It has a dipped-hem design too which makes it the perfect blouse for this season. My necklace is girly and feminine, yet a unique design. I spotted it in the same shop as I was walking out and thought it would go perfectly with the blouse! Love finding gems when I go shopping! I've been wearing this blouse for formal events, like work meetings and meals but been dressing it down during the day with my wet-look jeggings and my boyfriend coat.

Blouse £40, Necklace £12

Work Experience: Day 1

I'm currently on a week's work experience in Bristol working for 3 hair magazines (see below). On my first day I was greeted by a lovely lady and escorted to my designated Mac. Everyone is really friendly and I was introduced to the whole team! My first task was to write some articles for the website! I had to research 4 different current celebrity hairstyles and write about how to achieve the hairstyle. Here are the links:

Lauren Conrad's Elegant Side Sweep

Kelly Osbourne Retro Waves

Kristen Stewart's Chic Pony

Emeli Sande's Edgy Curls

Despite no credit of myself, it's still uber exciting that my work is on a website!! The rest of the day involved picture research and writing captions for them. These are to feature in the magazines. I'll let you know how the rest of my week goes!

My Poppy

If you've bought or going to buy a poppy, small or large, why don't you do something creative with it? Make it different! Make it your own! I've used a glitter nail varnish to coat mine, I think it adds a feminine touch and shows you're a creative person whilst still supporting your country. Have a go!
