As I excitedly told my friends that I was heading to the Isles of Scilly this summer to celebrate my 21st birthday, I found that surprisingly not many people had heard of it. The Isles of Scilly is 28 miles south of Penzance (Cornwall), and consists of 5 different islands. The island that I stayed on was Tresco and it truly was as beautiful as the caribbean. Of course it is still English weather but I was very lucky to have gone on a particularly sunny week. We chose to get a boat ride from Penzance to the Scilly Isles, which took two and a half hours, but alternatively you can travel over via aeroplane.
One of my favourite things on holiday is always the spa! I met 3 members of staff there during the course of the week and they were all so lovely. The spa offers a towel and robe for when you arrive and there was even shampoo and conditioner available in the showers, so all I had to bring was my swimming costume! It was so luxurious, clean, open and relaxing - I spent most of my week in the jacuzzi!
During my holiday I was treated to a lovely ila Manipura Full Body Massage. The treatment was very relaxing and a little different to your usual massage - it was more spiritually focused.
Official description:
"Regulating. Stimulating. Enlivening. This warming treatment helps balance and energise the Manipura - the solar plexus (naval) chakra - the centre of fire and sun energy that ignites our health and vitality. Meaning 'beautiful, shining jewel' in Sandskrit, the Manipura massage uses marma massage, lymphatic drainage and herb poultices to relieve digestive blockages, increase blood and lymph flow, and stimulate inner vibrancy."
So you can tell how lovely but unique the massage was! I would highly recommend to anyone who is in need of a luxurious hour long relaxing pick-me-up. It certainly had me set for a positive, rejuvenating week ahead. If you're visiting the island, you simply must pop into the spa for some genuine relaxation! The staff even have some delicious juice on hand in case you get thirsty! For more information about the spa click here.

The Isles of Scilly feels like a different world. You'd never think you're in the UK. On the Tresco island there is a hotel available, or you can rent a beautiful cottage which is what my family and I did. It's much more personal and comforting - you really feel more at home! Whilst there are restaurants available, cottages are open for self catering which is sometimes nice and also saves money! On the island is a bar, pub, restaurant/cafe, a bike hire service, a beautiful garden and a little supermarket for your self catering. So whether you fancy a meal out, a few drinks, a night of band entertainment or a relaxing walk, there is something to suit everyone on the island. My brother and I even swam with seals which was such a cold but awesome experience!
So if I've tempted you to check out the beautiful island, be sure to visit their website.
To finish off, here are some of my favourites photos of my time away. I'll also be posting a swimwear 'outfit of the day' which was shot on one of their beautiful beaches, so be sure to check back for that! Overall it was truly a wonderful 21st birthday - one that'll stay with me forever!
