My First TV Appearance | BBC2 Hair

This week I appeared on Hair - a television series and competition for hair stylists. The show debuted on BBC3 back in 2014 and now due to its success, has been taken on by BBC2. Back in February during the filming of the show, I was approached by the producers about appearing in one of the episodes. One of the tasks was for the hair contestants to create a hairstyle that bloggers would like to wear for a London Fashion Week launch party we would be attending. I was only asked the day before filming but understandably it didn't take me much persuading!

Myself and five other bloggers met in the morning at a café nearby the studio where we were all introduced to each other and have our microphones set up. It was already feeling rather surreal. We then headed to the studio and after a short brief we started filming. My hair stylist Meggan was so lovely, we got on so well that I forgot we were being filmed most of the time! The show was presented by comedian Katherine Ryan - truly hilarious and such a lovely lady! As I was having my hair done she came over and interviewed me, asking what it was I was having done and what my inspiration was. An hour later when the hair was complete, I faced the judges. The style I chose was a cute but messy side bun. I didn't want anything too big or wild as that's just not me, so admittedly it probably doesn't look like anything special but I was super pleased with it!

Later that evening we met the crew at The Cuckoo Club where the London Fashion Week launch party was taking place. I was interviewed outside (in the rain!) and talked about how pleased I was with my hair and how well it had stayed in. The party was really fun and enjoyed watching the dancers perform! It was the most amazing experience of my life - for one day I felt like a celebrity! I just hope that more opportunities like these come up soon!

My lovely hair stylist Meggan George is from Newcastle and works in a salon called Salon 2000. So if you live in the area you simply must go and visit her - she will create beauuuuutfiul hair and she is one of the loveliest people I've ever met! Go follow her on Twitter and Instagram to check out her work.

Outfit of the Day | Melissa Odabash

LOCATION
Tresco, Isles of Scilly

Admittedly the weather wasn't particularly sunny on this day of shooting which was such a shame as it had been so beautiful during the rest of the week. If you haven't seen my previous post on the Isles of Scilly then read it here - I was there on holiday celebrating my 21st birthday! You can see from the pictures that the island has such potential to look exotic but unfortunately we chose to shoot on a not so nice day. Nevertheless I was still warm enough in my Melissa Odabash beachwear and still felt glamorous! What I love about Melissa Odabash pieces is that they are truly made with quality and care to make you feel gorgeous wearing them.

This gorgeous silk kaftan by Melissa Odabash is so soft - it's honestly worth every penny when you discover how wonderful it makes you feel wearing it! I would happily head out on a summers evening for dinner or drinks wearing this kaftan as it feels like I'm wearing a glamorous dress! If you're like me and prefer covering up on the beach it's perfect and the ideal length for bare feet on the sand. For poolside wear, team with a pair of chunky wedges!

This lovely purple halterneck swimsuit feels so luxurious. It ties at the back of your neck so heavy busted girls like myself feel supported! This style features ruching below the bust to create a slimmer waistline which is brought together by a stylish metal bar in the middle. This colour is perfect on pale skin which is one of the reasons I chose it too!

If you want to feel glamorous and comfortable on your summer hols this year, I'd highly recommend Melissa Odabash swim and beachwear. Follow the links under the last piccie to buy :)
