A Reflexion Of The Year | 2015

I know I am a little late in writing this post but it's something I definitely want to write about as I love to look back on these in a year's time and realise how far I've come and what I've achieved.

2015 was a big year for me - a lot changed! In January I was living and loving my life in London. I was making lots of great friends and having a really lovely time exploring the city. Ever since I moved in October 2013, I'd always been working towards a career in fashion styling but it was a job that I got in January that made me rethink what I wanted to do. The first month of the year I took a big step and started working part time for a luxury belt company called Elliot Rhodes as their Online Marketing Manager which involved social media management, blogger outreach and designing email newsletters. As this was just a part time job, during the rest of my week I was assisting lots of stylists. And I really did work for some amazing clients... including Selfridges, Talk Talk, Samsung, Chelsea Magazine... I really loved it! This continued until the summer when I was also really enjoying working with social media, and I began wondering whether it was styling or online marketing that I wanted to do in the future.

Come September, I started considering moving home. I realised that I didn't want to stay in London forever - as much as I love the city, it's not somewhere that I see myself settling down in. This is when I made the decision to pursue a career in social media. In October, I set up my own company - Glow Communications. By November, I took on my first client! I met them for the first time at the beauty Home House in Mayfair, London. The company is a really gorgeous beauty brand - I am in love with the products and the team are so lovely. I am still working with them now! This job involves working from home so it made sense for me to move home at the end of November.

As soon as I moved home, my brother and I bought a beautiful little pug puppy - we called her Lola. It's amazing how quickly we've fallen in love with her! It's certainly been an eye opener though, and I suddenly feel like a proper responsible adult! We had to spend hundreds of pounds on a pen, food, toys etc - so it's quite a financial commitment too! But she is just the most gorgeous thing in the world - she makes me smile and brings so much joy to my life. Don't get me wrong, she can be a pain at times too! She's a teething puppy so she's forever wanted to bite our socks off or have a cheeky poo under the Christmas tree (she'll have to find somewhere new now that it's been put away for another year!) but her cute little eyes and cuddles make it all worth while. She has her third injection next week which means we can start taking her for walks! I've just bought a pair of bright pink wellies from Joules for our adventures - I'm so excited!

One of the biggest highlights for me this year has got to be appearing on a programme called Hair on BBC2, back in July. The show was a hair competition presented by the hilarious comedian, Katherine Ryan. This is the best opportunity that blogging has ever given me. The particular episode that I appeared in needed a group of bloggers to come on and ask for a specific hairstyle to wear to a London Fashion Week party that evening - and I got asked! It was all filmed in one day and was an absolute surreal experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. I wrote all about it on my blog here and you can also watch the episode on BBC iPlayer here

2015 focused a lot on my career, so now that I am rather happy with the way my job is going, I'd like to focus 2016 on being healthy and travelling the world a little more. I haven't seen many countries - New York and Canada are on the top of my to-do list! I would really love to see Cyprus and The Bahamas too! And it wouldn't be January if I didn't say I wanted to lose a little weight, right? I will absolutely be re-joining the gym this month and I'm very much hoping to get myself back in shape and feeling confident with my body again!

I'm still loving my blogging, although since moving home and having a puppy, I've been struggling for time to write many posts. Saying that, my brother and I have just splurged on a new camera and lighting for YouTube. I would really like to start filming some videos but I'm currently trying to find myself and my niche before I begin. I don't think I could ever neglect my blog any time soon though as fashion and beauty is my passion - I love writing about it and it has brought my so many amazing opportunities!

If you have taken the time out to read this rambling post, then thank you! And I wish you all the very best for 2016! Much love xxxxxxx
